China is fastening its artificial intelligence (AI) plans as Beijing AI startup Manus receives strong backing from local authorities and investors. According to Reuters, the Chinese AI startup registered its AI assistant and made an appearance on state media broadcast on Thursday.

This development comes in the wake of China’s increasing interest in developing domestic AI players that can compete on the global stage. After China’s Deepseek AI launched, the Chinese investors are looking for the next domestic AI startup.

Manus emerges at a time when China’s AI investment is on the rise, as the nation is growing its efforts to gain technological independence. With strong backers and government patronage, Manus is one of the leading Chinese AI startups that is concentrating on creating new generative AI models and products.

Some say that the Chinese startup went viral after it claimed to be the world’s first general AI agent. The new AI assistant is capable of making decisions and executing tasks autonomously. It also requires less prompts in comparison to ChatGPT and DeepSeek.

China’s investment in AI startups such as Manus is indicative of a wider strategy to diminish reliance on overseas technologies while fortifying its role as a world leader in the AI race. The Chinese government has made AI innovation a top priority, regarding it as an important driver of future economic and national competitiveness.

AI Startup Manus Gains Momentum as China Eyes the Next DeepSeek

Backed by the government, AI startup Manus is setting itself up as a possible challenger to current AI leaders. Manus specializes in large language models, generative AI tools, and enterprise-level AI solutions. Analysts see Manus poised to tread the success route of DeepSeek AI in China, which made waves globally for its cutting-edge AI products and explosive growth.

Manus’s swift ascent is testament to Beijing’s strategic emphasis on developing a strong AI ecosystem capable of creating global tech leaders. As China strives for its own alternatives to American and European AI titans, startups such as Manus are key to determining China’s AI future.

French quantum computing startup Pasqal has partnered with Nvidia to give its clients access to additional tools for developing quantum applications, Yahoo Finance reported. The collaboration between the two tech companies is expected to boost development of quantum applications.

System Integration

Pasqal was founded in 2019. The startup says it has already raised over $151.8 million in finance to date. On March 20, Pascal announced that it had integrated its quantum computing systems with Nvidia’s open-source platform, CUDA-Q to fast-track the process of developing quantum programs in high-performance environments.

“Our collaboration with NVIDIA will enable us to offer a much-requested interface and programming model for high performance computing and wider quantum community and ultimately accelerate the development of quantum applications,” Pasqal CEO Loic Henriet said.

Pascal has been participating in Nvidia’s startup inception programs. Pascal quantum computing’s integration with CUDA-Q will complement Nvidia’s current open-source library called Pulser. The library allows for custom experiments on neutral-atom devices. Through CUDA-Q, researchers can integrate AI supercomputers with quantum processing units from startups like Pasqal.

Nvidia’s Senior Director of CAE, Quantum and CUDA-X Tim Costa says this seamless integration allows researchers to achieve breakthroughs in quantum computing innovations. Pascal sees the Nvidia partnership as instrumental in boosting capabilities of its cloud computing platform.

Nvidia’s Approach to Quantum

Nvidia’s perspective on quantum computing varies from other big tech’s views. The chip maker does not see a quantum race to develop the largest computer. Instead, the company sees it as a shared infrastructure challenge that requires accelerated computing, deep integration, and scaled collaboration.

This perspective was evident during the GTC event held earlier this year. Throughout the event, Nvidia made it clear that it would stay away from the quantum hardware race and instead focus on developing systems and tools to enable others to go further faster. The US AI chip manufacturer has adopted a similar approach in other tech areas like autonomous vehicles and robotics.

“We don’t build our own self-driving car, but we help everyone else who does. We don’t build our own robots, but we help everyone else who does. We don’t build our own quantum computer, but our mission is to bring AI and accelerated computing to help everyone else who does,” Nvidia’s Group Product Manager for Quantum Computing, Sam Stanwyck said in a recent interview.

Nvidia does very well in AI and accelerated computing, and in embedding this power into wider ecosystems, Stanwyck added as he underscored the company’s main objective
“We are an accelerated computing company, and we see quantum as an important part of the future of accelerated computing,” he said.

Nvidia sees its role in quantum hardware as that of reducing bottlenecks, fast-tracking error correction, and facilitating quantum classical workflows.

Nvidia’s Quantum Stocks Impact

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s comments on how long the world might have to wait before quantum computers become a reality sent quantum stocks plunging earlier this year.

“If you said 15 years for very useful quantum computers, that would probably be on the early side. If you said 30, it’s probably on the late side. But if you picked 20, I think a whole bunch of us would believe it,” Huang said during the Consumer Electronics Show event in January of this year.

Huang has since changed his thoughts about this timeline, expressing shock that his comments affected the markets.

“My first reaction was, I didn’t know they were public. How can a quantum company be public,” said.

Huang apologized for his comments during Nvidia’s Quantum Day event on March 20. However, stocks of leading quantum computing companies like D-Wave Quantum, Rigetti Computing, and Quantum Computing remained in the red.

The Nvidia CEO says that “quantum computing has the potential, and all of our hopes that it will deliver extraordinary impact, but the technology is insanely complicated.”

India’s Tech Solutions firm Cognizant has sold its headquarters in Chennai, Hindustan Times has reported. The company sold the headquarters to Bagmane Constructions at a cost of ₹612 crore. Cognizant sells its headquarters in Chennai at a time when the tech company is planning to set-up an immersive learning center on its Siruseri campus.

Strategic Location

Cognizant Chennai headquarters were strategically located in Thoraipakkam along Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). The property sits on 13.6 acres of land. According to Siva Krishnan, Senior Managing Director at JLL, this is one of the major IT corridors in Chennai. JLL is the firm that brokered the deal,
“The property will be redeveloped into an office park with a potential development of about 3 million sq ft. This will be one of the largest deals in the Zone 2 region of OMR,” Krishnan added.
Zone 2 of OMR stretched from Sholinganallur all the way to Kelambakkam. The road is also referred to as Rajiv Gandhi Salai. Zone 1 of the OMR runs from Madhya Kailash Temple to Sholinganallur.

According to Krishnan, Zone 1 of the OMR stretch hosts a higher number of IT businesses compared to Zone 2. The stretch has a vacancy rate of between 4% and 5%. With limited land not available along the Zone 1 stretch, that focus is now shifting to Zone two where the Cognizant’s Chennai office headquarters were located.

“The deal marks Bagmane’s foray into Chennai’s commercial real estate market while also highlighting the growing interest in Zone 2 of the OMR region, driven by metro connectivity,” Krishnan said.

Immersive Learning Center

As Cognizant’s corporate office sale takes shape, the Indian tech company has unveiled plans to construct an immersive learning center at its Siruseri campus in the same city. The center, which will be established on a 14-acre piece of land, is expected to train at least 100,000 people in AI each year as part of the company’s skilling and innovation program.

The learning center will serve as a hub for Cognizant’s graduate school program in India. The company plans to use it to support other training centers that Cognizant is setting up in its campuses that are located in Pune, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Kochi. It will feature 14,000 seats, incubator hubs, smart classrooms, design thinking centers, residential accommodation facilities, and client experience spaces.

“Our new state-of-the-art centers will power new skills and our culture of continuous learning, enabling our people to drive business impact for enterprises globally,” Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S said.

Cognizant will also host intensive boot camps for fresh graduates in the immersive learning center. The company envisions it as a critical collaborative space where scholars in academia, tech partners, and clients can engage in learning and research programs.

Focus on AI

Cognizant has been increasing its focus on artificial intelligence. In 2024, the tech giant trained 277,000 employees on generative AI skills. 168,000 of them completed a GenAI course. Currently, 220,000 of the company’s associates have upskilled in GenAI.

The tech company’s planned expansion in Chennai is part of its plan to grow its infrastructure across India. In 2024, Cognizant opened new delivery centers in Indore and Bhubaneswar. The company is set to open a techfin center in Gujarat’s GIFT City. The Indian tech giant has also modernized the Kolkata campus and upgraded close to one million square feet of its Hyderabad facility.

Cognizant’s 2024 annual revenue rose by 1.98% to hit the $19.7 billion mark. The revenue growth reversed the slight drop that the company experienced the year before when its yearly revenue stood at $19.3 billion. This represented a 0.39% drop from 2022.

Tech giants Apple and Google are again on the hot seat as the European Union intensifies its regulatory push, focusing on their market power and business models. The latest action includes EU’s antitrust allegations on Google, which have generated widespread interest in the global technology sector.

According to Reuters, on Wednesday, the EU hit Google for breaking two landmark rules while Apple was asked to help connect rivals with its iphone and Ipads. The European Commission alleges that Google is using its market dominance in digital markets to suppress competition and prefer its own products.

This is part of a wider crackdown against the dominance of big tech firms in the European market. Though the U.S. has pressured the EU for clarity over the regulations over Big Tech firms. The U.S. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan had asked the EU antitrust chief Teresa Ribera to give you clarification on enforcement of regulations on Big Tech companies.

EU Fines for Tech Giants Set to Increase

The EU’s current investigations may lead to substantial fines for tech giants like Google and Apple. The European Union has in the past imposed billions of euros in fines on the two tech giants for anti-competitive practices.

In the Techarana Conference, Meta and Google criticized EU’s stringent regulations saying that these rules are slowing down the growth of AI in the continent. However, the regulators say that large technology companies have employed their dominance of app stores, search engines, and ad platforms to restrict options for consumers and competitors. Consequently, Google is now facing penalties that could further compound its legal woes in the region.

Impact of EU Rules on Google Services and Business Operations

The impact of EU rules on Google services can be important as these new rules such as Digital Markets Act (DMA) have come into existence. These rules are designed to prevent gatekeeping practices and ensure fair competition on digital platforms. However, when President Trump became the President, the EU probe of Big Tech went on pause due to political pressures.

For Google, this will change how it bundles services such as Google search, map and YouTube. Changes can also affect how data is collected for target advertising and is used, one of the major revenue currents of Google. The tech giants will need to make adequate adjustments in their European operations to follow a strict regulatory structure.

According to regulators, the alphabet prohibits app developers from directing users to alternative platforms where better deals can be available. They also argued that the service fee imposes on developers to get new customers through Google Play, exceeding the appropriate range.

In the second charge, regulators claim that Google offers preference treatment for its services – such as Google Shopping, Google Hotel and Google Flights – Competitive Prasad.

Google EU Investigation Deepens as Scrutiny Grows

The EU’s investigation of Google is deepening further, with regulators amassing evidence of how Google’s business practices hurt competitors. The areas of focus are searching result manipulation, preferential treatment of Google’s own products, and limits imposed on third-party app developers.

This probe is a part of the EU’s larger attempt to rein in big tech and bring a level playing field for the smaller digital competitors. If Google is found guilty, it can face not only hefty fines but also compelled reforms to its core business model within Europe.

As the Google EU investigation intensifies, the company is facing penalties that may influence global regulatory trends. The European Union’s crackdown signals a new era of oversight for Big Tech, with lasting implications for innovation, competition, and digital markets worldwide.

Nvidia experienced a setback as its shares fell by 3% after the new AI chip announcement. According to Yahoo Finance, the tech giant revealed its next-generation AI chip at its annual GTC event in San Jose on Tuesday, highlighting its capabilities in robotics and autonomous vehicle development.

Despite great expectations for its new AI chip models, the market responded in a cautious way due to Trump’s tariffs which led to an unexpected fall in Nvidia’s stocks. The announcement, which was meant to highlight Nvidia’s ongoing leadership in AI hardware, triggered mixed reactions from investors and analysts.

The new chip is a key successor to Nvidia’s Blackwell chips which is set to begin its shipment in 2025. The new upgraded chip can handle more tasks in the same amount of time. This new upgrade will help the providers generate 50 times more revenue in comparison to its predecessor Hopper GPU. CEO Jensen Huang said, “We designed Blackwell Ultra for this moment — it’s a single versatile platform that can easily and efficiently do pretraining, post-training, and reasoning AI inference.”

AI Market Impact on Nvidia and Investor Concerns

The AI market impact on Nvidia was quick as news spread across trading floors. Although Nvidia is still a top player in AI hardware, the launch of new chips stirred concerns about future market dynamics and competitive pressures. In February 2025, when Nvidia announced tighter Q4 profits which made Wall Street skeptical in spite of the company’s AI growth.

Analysts cited competitors catching up fast and having the potential to threaten Nvidia’s commanding lead. Josh Gilbert, a market analyst at eToro Australia said, “Investors may see that as an opportunity, particularly with its valuation remaining attractive on the backdrop of ongoing growth.”

In addition, with global economic instability and increasing tech regulation, investor sentiment suffered, manifesting in the performance of the stock. The market response highlights how closely the movement of Nvidia’s stock is linked to developments in the AI industry and investor sentiment.

Stock Market Trends Reflect Volatility in AI Sector

The recent drop in Nvidia’s shares also points to broader stock market trends affecting tech businesses engaged in AI research. With AI waves riding high, Nvidia’s supplier Ibiden plans for a faster expansion to meet the growing demand.

The decline in Nvidia stocks comes as a reminder of the volatility that characterizes the AI space, with sudden technology changes and strong competition likely to affect market valuations rapidly. Investors are keenly observing as the industry keeps evolving, weighing the optimism regarding the future of AI against fear of risk.

A Challenging Phase Ahead for Nvidia

The Nvidia New AI chip announcement was meant to solidify the company’s position in the market. But the resultant effect of the immediate AI market effect on Nvidia and the subsequent Nvidia stock drop shows the intricacies involved in Nvidia’s continued leadership.

Although the Nvidia stock forecast suggests a possible recovery, overall share market trends indicate further volatility. The performance of Nvidia in the next couple of months will greatly rely on how well it manages competitive forces, economic headwinds, and market expectations in the fickle AI arena.

At the event, Jensen Huang talked about AI and AI agents, saying, “In the last 2 to 3 years, a major breakthrough happened, a fundamental advance in artificial intelligence happened. We call it agentic AI. It can reason about how to answer or how to solve a problem.”

The Role of AI in Customer
Service

In this joint report by CEQUENS and Martech Vibe, results reveal that AI is no longer just the future of customer service (CS) in the Middle East—it is the present, setting new benchmarks for innovation and excellence. CS teams are leading the charge in AI adoption, embracing the technology with remarkable enthusiasm. However, while significant progress has been made, the journey is far from over.

The industry is now entering the second phase of AI adoption, characterized by more complex and ambitious use cases. This evolution will focus on advanced data analytics that interpret customer emotions and the development of a seamless, AI-driven omnichannel strategy. However, despite AI’s potential, businesses still struggle to unlock deep, actionable insights from customer data.

The true measure of success in this next phase will be the secure, efficient, and effective integration of AI into customer service operations. Organizations must ensure that AI-driven solutions foster trust, reliability, and cross-functional growth while aligning with evolving customer expectations.

By leveraging AI responsibly and strategically, businesses can redefine customer experiences, making interactions more intelligent, intuitive, and impactful across all touchpoints.
